take a look inside Day One

On day 1, physically check to make sure you have all of the supplies, products, tools, equipment you will need to fulfill your business duties and provide customers with an excellent customer experience.
In addition, a website is one of those necessary tools you will need for your business, if you do not have one, purchase a website today. The older your website is the more search engines will favor your business, so the sooner you have it the better so it can age. If you already have a website, use it for your business because it has already aged.

Also, check to ensure you have the skills and knowledge necessary to carry out the service you will be providing to customers, or know all there is to know about the products you will be offering. If you find you have holes in your knowledge or skills, study up on what your knowledge or skills is lacking by using your local library, as well as books you can find online. Try as much as possible to stay away from information that is published publicly online, 99% of it is of low value and repetitive, not proving any unique information, which customers love.

The last thing you need to check on and decide on day 1 is will you use your personal phone number as your business line, or will you use a phone app. Our entrepreneurial staff uses TextNow phone app, they offer a free version, and it’s pretty reliable. Whether you decide to use an app or your personal you must use the same number in every place you list your business, if you use alternating numbers, search engines will view it as a different business, which will hurt your search engine listing.

Insider Business Information

One very common misconception about starting your own business is that you need to come up with the “perfect” idea to do it — when that couldn’t be further from the case.

I know it’s difficult to imagine that you might have profitable skills already — but you do. In fact, the perfect solution to find out those skills: Look at what your friends ask you to help them out with.

That’s not the only way you can find a profitable business idea either. There are actually 4 questions you can ask yourself right now to find an idea you can leverage for your business.

What do you already pay for? We already pay people to do a lot of different things. Can you turn one of those things into your own online business? Examples: Clean your home, walk your pet, cook you meals, etc.
What skills do you have? Now, what do you know — and know well? These are the skills you have that you’re great at — and people want to pay you to teach them. Examples: Fluency in a foreign language, programming knowledge, cooking skills, car repairs etc.
What do your friends say you’re great at? I love this question. Not only can it be a nice little ego boost — but it can also be incredibly revealing. Examples: Workout routines, relationship advice, great fashion sense, etc.
What do you do on a Saturday morning? What do you do on a Saturday morning before everyone else is awake? This can be incredibly revealing to what you’re passionate about and what you like to spend your time on. Examples: Browsing fashion websites, working on your car, reading fitness subreddits, etc.
Find an answer to those questions and I promise you you’ll find a great freelancing idea.
